Founder, Chairman,
President, and Chief Executive Officer of HOSPITALITY CONSULTANTS,
INC., HOSPITALITY CONSULTANTS MANAGEMENT SERVICES, INC., HOSPITALITY
CONSULTANTS REALTY SERVICES, INC., REALTORS and related companies which
provide management, investment, consulting, development, valuation and
brokerage services to the hotel, motel, resort and restaurant
industries.
Chairman and CEO of INNVESTORS
GROUP, the firm's investment arm for the acquisition or development
of hotel, motel resort and restaurant projects. Managing
Member of NEXUS Recoveries, LLC, a legal services firm providing
asset and loan workout, recovery work on a contract basis for the
Export-Import Bank of the United State, Managing Member of
HOSPITALITY TITLE SERVICES, LLC, a commercial title insurance firm
and Managing Member of PALM ESTATE HOMES, LLC, a luxury home
development company.
Prior to forming HOSPITALITY
CONSULTANTS, Robert held various management and executive staff
positions with HILTON HOTELS CORP. Responsibilities included overseeing
various phases of refurbishing, development and management of
properties owned and/or operated by HILTON.
Robert has been a guest
lecturer on numerous occasions at both Oklahoma State University and
Florida International University. He has been a speaker at hospitality
and real estate industry related conferences, meetings and workshops,
has authored and co-authored several industry related articles and has
been interviewed as an industry expert.
Robert has testified as an
expert witness in State, County, and Circuit as well as United States
District Courts on hotel and restaurant operations, brokerage disputes,
hotel and restaurant valuation issues, real estate legal matters and
tax disputes, eminent domain & condemnation proceedings, management
contract disputes and foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings. Robert
has served as a Receiver and Custodian in State Court proceedings and
as a Trustee and Examiner in Federal Bankruptcy Court to oversee the
operation of distressed hotels, motels, resorts, restaurants,
condominium projects and other real estate projects.
Robert is a licensed Real
Estate Broker and REALTOR in the State of Florida and Illinois. He
serves as a Director and Past President of the REALTORS Commercial Society
of the Palm Beaches, was Chairman of the Board and President
(2005-2006), (04-05 President-Elect, 03-04 Treasurer and past Treasurer) of the REALTORS Association of
the Palm Beaches, is a Director of
the Florida Association of REALTORS and 2003-Present, Chair (2004) of the REALTORS Commercial Alliance of
FAR, Chair of the Audit Committee of FAR (2008) and Vice Chair
of the Tax Committee of FAR (2008). Robert serves on the Finance
Committee of FAR (2004-Present). He is a Director of the National Association
of REALTORS (2004-2007) and serves on the REALTORS Commercial Alliance
Council of NAR as well as the Commercial Real Estate Research and
Legislative Sub-Committees. In addition, Robert is or has been a member
of the American Hotel and Lodging Association and the National
Restaurant Association. Robert previously served as the Chairman and
Vice Chair of the Commercial Investment Committee of the North Broward
Association of REALTORS (1993/94) as well as a member of the District
11 CI Committee (1992/93) and the Regional
Commercial Investment Council (1993/94) representing the collective
interests of the south Florida Commercial REALTORS, as well as various
committees of the REALTORS Associations. Robert is a member of the CCIM
Institute (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and has served on
the Technology sub-Committee of the Florida CCIM Chapter and Commercial
Alliance. He served on the Marketing Sub-Committee of the RINA
Executive Committee of the RAMADA franchise system for 1984 and 1985
(Chairman - 1984) and on the Rules of Operations Sub-Committee for 1985
through 1990. Robert is a Graduate of the RAMADA MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE
(RMI) Series I, II & III. Robert also previously served on the
Construction and Real Estate Lending Committee (Broward County, FL),
was Chairman of the Management Board (Deerfield Beach, FL), and served
on the Regional Board (So. Palm Beach County, FL) of 1ST AMERICAN BANK
(now part of BANK OF AMERICA).
Robert's numerous civic duties include
volunteer hockey coaching, travel and high school (1993-present),
Head Varsity Coach of the
Spanish River (HS) Sharks Ice Hockey Team, Director of STATEWIDE
AMATEUR HOCKEY OF FLORIDA, INC. (S.A.H.O.F.) and the Disciplinary Chair of
SAHOF (1999-Present), the USA Hockey affiliate in Florida, Vice President of
the Southeast Junior Hockey League, Inc. (2007- present), a past USA
Hockey Associate Coach-in-Chief and current Coaching Instructor for
Florida, Founding Board Member and Vice President of the FLORIDA
PANTHERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION and founding Commissioner & President
of the FLORIDA JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE, INC. Robert is also a past member
of the Board of Directors of the AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION (Boca
Raton/Delray Beach Chapter) and a fund raising Captain for the AMERICAN
HEART ASSOCIATION (Boca Raton Chapter), in addition to officer
positions and/or membership in the F.O.P.A. (Lighthouse Point, FL) and
Lions Club International (Highwood, Illinois).
